not a pure weight weenie ride, no C40 will ever be accused of that! all-up weight ~8.0kg as pictured

originally in the 2003 landbouwkredit colors, redone in a custom job by allan wanta:

here's what it looked like originally:

Beautiful custom respray...Wanta does great work! However, that poor handlebar wrap job, detracts from the otherwise perfect build. No offense, but it appears that you don't use that little extra tab of tape include in the box, in any of your builds (I see the same pattern on all your builds).

yep, i never use those little bits of wrap...they add 2-3g of unnecessary weight to my bikes, a True Weight Weenie would NEVER willingly add superfluous mass in favour of vanity! while other guys are crinkling up their noses at my poor tape-wrap, i'm dropping the hammer and flicking them from the peloton!

nice new paint... but I hope there was an exceptionally good reason for removing the old scheme...

Whats up with the brakes? kinda incongruous in an otherwise beautiful build. I also question the aesthetics of the bars and tape job, but that is a personal choice...

May it give you many wonderful miles :)

Did they remove all the old paint down to the carbon before the respray? How did you get the headtube decal?

I like the paint scheme personally....

what I don"t like is that it should have a setback seatpost.......

In a way it's both

I guess that's the problem: a true weightweenie bike means weight over form, with saving weight to the max being the wow factor for me. But an 8 kilo bike is not considered weightweenie and in that case form becomes the only wow factor for me.

I am not conversant with Colnagos, especially older ones. The only one I saw up close, when put on a scale at the shop, weighed more than my Bikes Direct Windsor Wellington. I shet you not. What, what other than the color, is offensive about that handlebar tape wrap ?

Ya do know you can have a proper bar wrap *without* using those extra cheat strips, right?

Meh, not worried....I like to leave a few things not quite sorted to keep the discussion lively!
