Yea, that ti Cysco is a total win.

Nice collection... no, incredible collection. We need more pics of the entire armada!

Haters will be mocked if they show up on this thread. 23 is a fine number if you have the space and desire (and sousal approval) - if you got that, flaunt it.

michel2,

I've not tried Shimano 9000 yet, but my friends who have it rave about its 'light' shifting action compared to the first generation of Shimano 'cables-under-the-bar-tape' shifters; the Ultegra 6700, which I have on a 2012 Litespeed T5 and a 2012 Lynskey Sportive (I recently went through a 'comfort bike' phase, which turned into a 'must have Ti phase'. I will be posting pictures of these in the future) and Dura Ace 7900, which I have on one of my CAAD10s (a bone stock 2012 CAAD10 1 Dura Ace model I keep in Florida). But, I'm getting ahead of myself and digressing at the same time...

I have been a little put off from trying 9000 due to my misperception I would have to purchase yet another wheel standard to accommodate the group. However, Leonard Zinn's recent revelation on VeloNews that a Campagnolo 11 speed compatible wheelset will work with a 9000 drivetrain has made me want to give it a try since I have so many Campy 11 compatible wheelsets. I will no doubt explore this group soon; however, it will have to wait as I am in the middle of a frame up 2014 Charcoal Black CAAD10 build at the moment (will be using Campy Chorus 11).

Very respectfully, Tim

Do you just say CAAD 10 with Chorus 11!!!! Please document this build in pictures. That deserves it. I just built a CAAD with Force 22. Love CAAD 10s.

btompkins0112,
I too love the CAAD10. I have always loved Cannondales and the CAAD10 just speaks to me. I still have an older (1995) Cannondale R900, which I bought new in Heidelberg, Germany. I was living/working in Strasburg, France at the time. The only thing left original on the bike is the frame, but I've upgraded it over the years and keep it around for nostaligic reasons. I still ride it several times a year and even race it on occasion. It came with a Shimano 600 8 speed group, but now it has a full Dura Ace 7800 10 speed group, Zipp 101 wheels, a Thomson seatpost and Stem, a Selle Italia SLR saddle, a Wolf 1" full carbon fork, Keo carbon/stainless pedals, and a Ritchey WCS Evo-Curve handlebar. I've attached an older picture without all the aforementioned upgrades. I will post a more current picture of it in the future.

Unfortunately I am half way through with the CAAD10 build so I can't document it in pictures from scratch as I'd have to unbuild it to do so. I will definitely post pictures of it though.

Very respectfully, Tim

BrianVarick,
Not really...That's the scary thing. She's happy as long as I nod north-south as she makes our plans for vacation, travel, dinner, animal adoptions, etc. She REALLY LOVES to plan things. Hell, she's the one who suggested/organized our travel to the TdF in 2010, our trip to Maui so I could ride Haleakala in 2012 and our TREK Travel vacation to the TdF this year. She is, however, expecting us to retire to Tampa, Florida. Tolerating/supporting my bicycle habit is probably her way of ensuring that happens. 8) I'm cool with that though. Florida's flat, but there are lots of cyclists and cycling clubs. I can live there.

How did you figure out to make the sram derailleur work with campy shifters? was the derailleur just lying around and did you think "what the heck, let's just put it on and see what happens!" ? looking forward to more pictures

fitty4,
I read an article where Leonard Zinn tried this experiment and claimed it worked fine. He is the ultimate mad scientist when it comes to 'frankenbiking' things. I wanted to try a SRAM Red rear derailleur as they were so light, but I much preferred the Campy shifting design and shifter shape to the SRAM so I figured I'd give it a shot.

I'm waiting for the haters to arrive...

Tinea Pedis,

I see you have a 1989 Eddy. I had a 1990 Eddy 10th Anniversary Edition with full Campy C-Record 7 Speed. The bike was sweet with less than 500 total miles. I sold it and several other period steel bikes (mid 90's Bottechia, 2003 Tommasini Tecno, and a 1982 Gios Torino Super Record, which was fully restored/repainted after receiving minor frame modifications). I was using them only as wall art so I sold them about two years agoto make room for other projects. They all went to very good homes.

Pics of Eddy, Tommasini, and Gios attached. Who could hate on those three classics?

Very respectfully, Tim
