This was my first road bike, bought 3 years ago now. I'm just a casual cyclist, although starting up racing would be something I would like to do. Unfortunately, I'm a lanky asian (180cms, 55kgs), so that's already a disadvantage to me. Anyway, I still enjoy a nice morning ride or a lazy sunday cruise around.
I bought it stock as a Caad9-5, upgraded shifters and deraileurs to SRAM red, threw those on another bike, sold that off and now I'm starting from scratch.
I wanted a solid build, but I also aim to break the 6.8kg barrier, all on a student budget. I bought a lot of stuff second hand, which helped lower the costs.
At this present time, I don't think I'll make the 6.8, so I'll have to find some lighter bits.
Give me your input.
Edit* Swapped the really heavy 6800 brakes for the new Ciamillo Micro brakes, est 150g per set. Should knock off a good amount of weight, closer to 6.8 now.
Should get the cannondale evo expander from the LBS hopefully too.
Also farsports carbon cages to replace the ridiculously heavy elite plastic.

I'm waiting on a backorder for the cassette, and need to wait for the brakes.
I'm also waiting on my next paycheck so I can buy the wheels, unless someone's willing to sell me a set of deep carbon hoops weighing <1200g for <$1k?
Here are some weights to keep you entertained until the build.
P.S. Ignore the FSA crank, I don't have a rubber mallet to remove it just yet. That bugger is in there tight.
