Hi all,

I'm just getting back into cycling after 5 months off the bike following a knee injury. Picked up an XL 2011 Giant TCR recently which I'm in the process of setting up and finishing off. The bike should see regular use of around 50 miles a day, 6 days a week through winter; so is more of a 'solid' build then a lightweight. Ignore pedals, steerer, stem and QR's as these are all being replaced this week, along with compact crank, bar tape and saddle (to something less garish).

Spec:
Giant TCR Advanced 1 (2011) XL Frameset
DT Swiss Tricon Wheelset
Full Ultegra 6700 Groupset
ITM Vista Carbon 130mm Stem
Shimano SPD-SL Pedals (not pictured as shoes in repair)

1. Interesting build.

2. How much does it weigh.

3. That is a big frame. How tall are you?
Road bike: Cervelo R3, Campagnolo Chorus/Record mix...
Supercommuter: Jamis Renegade...
Oldie but goodie: De Rosa Professional Slx, Campagnolo C-Record...
And you can call me Macktastik Honey Pete Kicks, thank you.

I don't envy big riders and getting frames that fit, but if that is your final set-up position, or thereabouts, your Giant looks a good fit.

It's roughly setup, i will probably throw on a 140mm stem and pull the saddle back 10mm or so. I'm not a fan of the look of the bike, but the frame in XL does'nt look ridiculous (i.e. stupidly long HT) as many others. Compared to my old 61cm Allez it's a better fit for me:

Not sure about weight, I would guestimate around 7.2kg with SPD-SL pedals
I'm only 6ft 2" but I have a very long torso hence long reach and lowish stack

(although I had to remove the conical spacer to get the stem low enough, not pictured)
