Nice. What vintage (obviously pre HP stays) and what size?

Welcome back.

That's a sweet looking bike. It looks like the B stay, no HP bike that was, in my opinion, the best of the C40s. I'll be looking forward to the finished product.

Thanks again :beerchug: And i'm glad to be back.
You are correct again, the frame is a 54cm pre hp c40. Just like the one i got years ago, as my first serious race bike.
The old one was just a 56cm.
All i know for now, is that i would like to build it up with Campy SR (white logo's). Like many others, i think that Colnago's should have Campagnolo groupsets :D
Apart from that i want it to be classic looking, just not to 90's.

I have some problems, finding out what stem to use, like always.
It must not be to thick looking. I hate that on a thin tubed frame.
What do you think about this one? Some years ago it would have been perfect.

Uh oh... looks like this is going to be one of those loooong drawwwn out build threads :D , which is fine by me.

As for the stem... a black ITM would be nice... but NOT that yellow thing. Would stick out like a sore thumb. Really think it needs to be black on that frame. So, if you want the white/black SR stuff I guess you're looking for 2009/10 vintage (if 11 speed). Are you considering a 10spd group as well, depending on what you find? Are you familiar with the Deda Einstein stems... it's basically a Newton with some nicer finishing and a yellowish/green font that would probably match nicely. Also has a carbon front piece. Think that would work but it'd be difficult to find. Looks like you need a 130mm length?

What type of wheels are you considering (sorry if you've already said so, but since I'm replying, thought I'd ask)?

From what little we've seen of the frame, it looks to be in very good shape.

Very sweet frame, but like Calnago already said, please lose that stem!

Ok, the yellow stem is out :D I had to try it .
I will go 11speed SR.
Actually i have been looking Hard for a Einstein stem, but as you say they are very rare, and i don't want to pay a lot. But i think it would be nice.
I have also thought about a blacked out newton 25,8 or 31,8?? because the red logo doesn't match.
But as i said before, this is hard for me. I am thinking a lot about stems at the moment.
All good ideas are appreciated
