One vote for gumwalls! I usually don't like them but with your bike they look really good!

Lousy iPhone picture, but ENVE 4.5s with gumwalls:

I have to admit I was wrong about the gum walls, that looks great.

Thanks, all!

I rode the 4.5s yesterday for the first time. I was beat up from a dirt ride the day before and couldn't get my heart rate over 144, so it's not a good test. They felt slow and heavy, but so did I.

They *look* good. ;-)

Another report when I'm spirited.

I got the bike out with a bit more fuel in the tank, and I'm really liking the 4.5s.

They handle the crosswinds well (predictably) and have absolutely the best braking surface of any carbon rim I've ridden (and I've ridden a few). They outshine all of ENVE's offerings, though I understand that the 2.2s have a yet-better braking surface.

They aren't the lightest wheels in the world, and I do climb a ton (> 100 ft. per mile throughout the year), but they don't feel sluggish. Now that I've got the pressures right (90 F / 95 R with 25mm tires), I'm not bouncing off every road imperfection.

I still think the CCUs may be my favorite wheel of all time. Need to put them back on for a back-to-back comparison.

'course, the CCUs don't stop... ;-)
