This is a project I've been working on over the winter. This is my more "race ready" bike, as my other main ride is a Moots Vamoots, good for weekend rides, commuting, adverse weather, etc.

Since this is WW, the bike is 15.80 lbs with Edge 705 + Cadence. I wanted to weigh the bike as it would be ridden, rather than w/o pedals, etc. I did skip the saddle bag and waterbottles, but it'd be too disheartening to see the scale read 20+. I'm happy with the weight; it's not a true WW beauty but it's no porker either.

Build list:

Canyon CF Pro, 2008, 58cm
Campy Chorus (w/ Record 50/34 crankset)
0G-05 Ti brakes
Reynolds Cirro rims (2005 or 2006)
Look Keo Carbon (CrMo spindle)
Acros headset/Syntace 120mm stem (w/ frameset)
Look EDH bars
Look Ergopost 4
Fizik Arione CX - Saunier Duval replica
Nokon cables/housing
Tacx Tao aluminum cages

Everything looks great; other than the Canyon.com logos all over the frame. A little subtler brand name placement would go a long way on that beatiful frame.

Agreed - obviously I'm fine with it but I would have prefered a version without the ".com." You sort of learn to love it!

Thanks! The same goes for your Bianchi (I followed the link in your signature). By the way, we're neighbors - I'm also stuck in the U-District.

Maybe I'm the only one who is in no way worried by the logo's on the bike...?

Canyon's are fantatsic looking frames!

I don't like when they put web addresses on bikes.

What has cycling got to do with a DNS resolution of an IP address?

Just have the brand name and be done with it. Not .com and what have you.

How was the order process with Canyon? I know they have a website, but was it easy? How long did it take to get the frame? How much if you don't mind me asking? I think their frames are beautiful..

I've heard mixed reviews about their order process, but I had an overall pleasant experience. I initiated contact and put in my order in mid August, when the sales season had already begun to wind down, so that may explain it.

Anyway, every time I shot them an email (and I sent a lot), I would have a reply in my inbox the following morning. When I gave the go ahead to assemble the order, it was packaged and ready for shipping a couple of days later, when they sent out the invoice. The wire transfer took 24 hours, and then another 1.5 weeks to ship the bike from Germany to Seattle. The bike got stuck in customs for a week, but was eventually released without having to pay a customs tax. The one odd thing about the order is that my sales associate stated that the bike would need to be picked up at the local airport (they go through Schenker), but our branch said that Canyon paid for home delivery via courier. I'm guessing Stateside deliveries are rare enough that it's still not a process that has been ironed out for them.

So, on to price. Canyon offers an interesting discount for those with a racing license. I purchased the CF Pro 8.0 for 2200 Euro with the discount, although the OEM package is with Ksyrium Elites and cheaper bits (FSA bars and seatpost, cheaper SLR saddle). Shipping was a bloated 200 Euro, but the 2400 total seemed like a bargin for such a nice frame paired with a decent build. By the way, if you don't need 11 speed, check their "outlet" section for last year's CF Pro 8.0; I believe they have a bunch left.
