I believe that was to do with the number of years Ernesto Colnago had been building frames at launch.
Yes but if you see the chronology the C-40 started on 1994, exactly at the 40 year anniversary of Colnago ( founded 1954 )
The C-50 came to the market on 2004 at the 50th anniversary.
the C-59 started on 2011-2012 if I am not wrong that is 57 years, it should have been called C-57.
Now for 2014 we should expect a true C-60

As a result I thing they announced they will keep the original and discard their logo changing plans...
Hmm, not according to the UK distributors, they will ship with the 'new' mental typeface ...

frame arrived along with parts, IMO looked fantastic:
I had the stem painted white which i thought would be a good idea, I hated it, also hated the look of the madable cages too, so got the new lightweight cages:
So I replaced it with a deda superleggera bob stem, changed the seat to black and the seatpost to all white. I think white bar tape may look better but for now I'll keep it black until I feel like changing it. Got a great deal on the 80th anniversary groupset so thought I would go with that, the matt finish is a nice change. I have finished the build, had first ride which was also my first on lightweights and I absolutely think everyone should have a pair at some time in their life, they are phenomenally comfortable, lightweight cages are freaky light looking, interesting to see if they hold up:
Weight came in around as expected:
