I've been thinking about a new build lately, to try and shed some weight on my Isaac Impulse. It was sitting at around 15.7lbs and trying to drop weight was getting increasingly difficult as the frame is fairly heavy.
I had my eye on a Supersix Evo, but then came across a recent deal at Westbrook cycles. A 2012 Scott CR1 SL frameset for £499. Yes please! Not as light as the supersix, but a lot cheaper!
Here is the build...
Actual weight is 6.5Kg (14.3lbs)
Frame came in overweight at 903g (its quoted at 860g).

My parts list obviously didn't account for everything. I didnt weigh the cables, shifters or garmin mount so could be these.
I'm aiming to get it down to 14lbs. Things left to do:
- Cut down the seatpost
- Cut down the steerer
- Remove the crap decals of the Kalloy 98g stem
- Replace the brake cables with a Ashima Reaction set
- Buy some lighter carbon cages. Maybe the 14g ones from Flyxii
- Buy a 2nd hand Red rear mech and Fybre-lyte carbon mech plate
Thanks for looking!
