The saddle & handlebar position look awkward to me but that really doesn't matter...it's your bike and the new paint job looks really nice...

@ wingnut - thanks for the compliment. I have found the paint colour to be awesome, sparkles in the sunlight. Looks far better than in photos.
The bar position is annoying me to the point that I am considering going back to the Nitto bars I originally had on the bike.

@ de zwarten, i had a go at repositioning levers and bars according to the link you posted.
I think it looks better. I will go out for a ride and see how it feels.

Thanks michel22. I love the orange Merckx.
I'm loving my steel bike, much heavier than my Parlee or Trek, but a fantastic bike to ride.
