Hi Norm... Awesome bike!

What do u think about going black tape and saddle?

I run white tape and saddle on my black S5 VWD, and thinking of going black...

I laughed a little when I saw the spacer stack. I was going to say u need to slam the stem, take pics, photoshop the excess steerer out and post the pics... Then return setup to a more relaxed state... Saves reading the obligatory pseudo-racer posts above ;-)

Johnny, that's a black Spurcycle.com bell. They actually give tickets around here if you don't have one (particularly spring/early summer when they have "crackdowns").

Drmutley, I never really considered "all black." This is enough for me. I like the combination of white saddle/bar tape/spokes.

Is the steering tube alloy? Never noticed that. Nice build :)

Steering tube is carbon with a molecular nickel coating for strength.

Great looking!

The rear brake cable housing seems a bit long though. Also, are they tubular veloflex? If so the rear tire seems to be on the wrong way looking at the tire logo versus the valve.

Just going through the components Im sure the ride is amazing. Stiff frame and crank, light wheelset and ergonomic and functional group >> Recipe for the ultimate bike! I wouldnt mind adding that one to my stable for SURE!

Thanks everyone for the kind words.

Nagge, yes they are Veloflex Arenberg tubulars. I don't believe there is a tread direction but at any rate they both look like this:

\\\///|||||\\\///

So either they are both right or both wrong! :D

Love the wheels with the white spokes and how they match the frame. Would love to see it with the blacked out decals.

What city are you in that they require you to have a bell?
