I already had the frame, fork, headset, bb and seatpost since 2003-2004 (the XT crankset since the early '90s BTW) and I decided to revive it.
Not anything special by today's standards but I really enjoy it!

-I would like a ride on that ! - in Your Nature.
Good to see a Classic MTB, looks New ! -and very fine components, that matches up well.
-The White tires, and Silver cranks lightens the Whole build. -Perfect ! (all Black, -no no !).
-And V-brakes. Correct adjusted, -not a sound in the quiet nature. -I Like !
You also have good opportunities to shave some weight, still with use of Classic parts.
Very Nice. Congratz.
-Will Race for food..

Beauty!!!

I'm doing the same with a 1997 Rocky Mountain Element Race---so far knocked about 1 kg off it. These are bikes I understand and can fix myself.

Some of the bikes on here make me go WOW! but then I think about the 6 or 7000 price tag of included parts and I think Keep it simple and work with what you have.

Good job----definitely classy
