I thought I would register and post my build here. I didn't read much about this bike online (in english anyways) so I figured I could help out anyone else looking at this frame. I wanted something pretty light but also comfortable. Stevens claims this is supposed to be more comfortable than a full-on racebike so we'll see.

2011 Stevens Ventoux, size 62cm
1070g frame plus seat clamp
340g fork, uncut

planning on building with:

Syntace F109
Raceface alloy bars 240g
Use Alien Carbon, 27.2
China hubs, H Plus Son Archetype 20H F/24H R
2013 Chorus
saddle?? SLR?

Very excited to finally try carbon and Campy 11.

Here are my other bikes.

:welcome:

You sir, are a giant! Great looking frame...awesome weight for the size.

I can attest for the Archetype build as I have the same, it is awesome and you won't regret it.

Be sure to keep us up to date with pics!

Yeah, I'm 6'5" and ride a 63/62 usually. My track bike and cross bike are 61 but they're a bit higher off the ground.

I love LOVE those Archetype rims. I have a set on my Cinelli and they are fantastic. They are great to build too, very round and have a consistent braking surface. I built a lot of Velocity rims when working at a shop but their recent welding seems to be a bit sub-par. I liked the Archetypes so much I built a set for my girlfriend's commuter!

Cinelli and Soma with matching Archetypes!

Awesome! I have been pleasantly surprised with the durability of the ano braking surface.....using the pads that came with my PX brakes and haven't had a smudge off them yet.

how do you like the Shimano calipers compared to the Planet-x brakes? I have some PX brakes on another bike (with ano but not machined rims) and the performance isn't great. I was hoping to shed some weight with calipers but I'm hesitant about giving up the power of the chorus brakes.

Wow that's a lot of room in that main triangle! Nice looking bike, and the free range chickens look mighty tasty too!
