A good friend of mine, uses this Specialized, as commuting and training bike.
w. nokon.jpg

With electric gear-shifting !
He uses alu Nokon brake cable housing on this one.
-And He also had Nokon extra's in excess, in carbon ! -From other builds.
I only need one gear cable, and only minimal housing lenght !
-From Bar-shifter, to top of Down tube, -and the 9cm, from chain stay to Rear derailleur.
He gave Me the bits, to try out. -in carbon...-Thank You buddy !

I have, of course heard about this pearl-system, for a while, but had no interest then.
-Now, I suddenly can see some sense in this Industrial based cable housing system.
I don't expect to shift -faster, -or better, -or more precise !
I expect these same performances, as with normal plastic/steel housing !
But I like the stiff bendings, that seems to stay put, when left alone (No tension curvings when tightened).
-It will not crack when used in freezing temps/hot sun (My winters/summers).
And it looks nice (in small portions). I have seen some full 2x brake,2x gear, nokons in screaming colours, it looked like crumbled metallic snakes, invading the frame !

I will give the pearls a try! (-first a Diamond chain, -now pretty Pearls ! -What is next ?)

Quick Updates.

The tuning of the Thomson seat post was abandoned earlier...
It was a true "set-back"... in weight.
-No way !! -I suddenly remembered seeing Round Yokes, on high-class posts. -A Little research, -and I found some nice 5mm threaded ones, at 11gr. a pair.
Thomson Masterpiece 350mm 30.9dia. w. 1xM5 30mm ballbolt, and 1x 35mm, 2x concave washers, all titanium. And the two Alu CNC Yokes : Total weight 155gr.
Back on track..jpg

And they are in "gold" =*bling*.. ? -Nooo no ! -Ducati colour scheme ! -(No Black available.)

And the handle bars needs to follow the colours too !
Found this 2009 Noir WC, was 580mm 119gr. , -Now, cut to 556mm, Weight 111gr.
Much better !.jpg

-soon more.

-Finally, I recieved the last parts for My crankset ! It was the hybrid-ceramic bearings, and some other nick-nacks.
I said earlier, that the saddle was the "only Italian spice in the dish", -and the Italians can't make good MTB-parts... And all the time, I was waiting for the ExtraLite E-Bones W crankset..
-Design from 2005. -Unchanged, and continous production, for 8 years.. -Super cool look, -low weight, and very nice to touch n feel.

172.5mm HC-bearings.jpg

ExtraLite Chainring 44t (outer position), milled/filed to fit Middle Position now ! 58gr. (with out the little chaincatcher-screw behind the arm). Here incl. 4x bolt/nuts.
44t w. alu bolts.jpg

So, total chainset is : 505gr + 66gr + 3gr(2x 2.5mm spacers)= 574gr.

I also tuned My heavy Maguras some more. They were 791gr. Now : No Quick releases ! -And change of 4xM5 35mm bolts, from titanium to Aero Alu (from rouge-airport-mechanic !) Now (no lizard skins) Weight 717gr !!

Tomorrow, I will assemble it all ! Weather forecast says "Rain"... perfect ! I think I'm gonna wake up very early !
Will post bicycle pics soon !
