Hi I'm Pete from south Wales. [In UK not Australia :D ]

I've used the listings for a long time but never the forum until now.

I built my bike over last winter and have used it as much as possible this year.

It makes trails like Afan Argoed and Coeed Y Brenin so much easier! :wink:

I'm especially pleased as I built the whole thing myself bar fitting the headset and until then I knew nothing about how bikes were put together.

Must be one of the lightest, non SID equipped bikes around.

you might want to take al look at bar, saddle, post and wheelset for future upgrades.

Hehehe I know!

I'm only 5'7 and tried the 17inch frame back to back with the 15.5inch.

I found the 17 left me feeling too stretched out so I plumped for the smaller which makes the bike easier to control and more responsive.

Plus I fall off a lot which means there is less distance for my head to travel to crash into the mud.

Tippster: Your right, although I think the wheels are pretty much there.

I could upgrade the bar but to get any real weight gains I'd have to go flat which I don't fancy.

The Thomson is very light as I've cut it down and far lighter than the carbon MaxM post I initially got for it. The actual carbom tube was lighter but the head made it heavy.

The saddle weighs LOTS, but I have a skinny bottom and need a comfy perch :lol:

The biggest improvement I could make is to go for a SID and save around 500g bringing the bike well under 8.7kg but I love the Fox too much!
