At the end of my Colnago C59 TSMR thread, I mentioned that I would be building up a C59 in CLSM for a friend. Well, it turns out that for financial reasons, he can't keep the C59. So, I bought the frame from him, and will be building it up as my own. And conveniently, the frame is just my size, 45S.

I started off by wrapping the frame in 3M auto vinyl to protect the paint. I think I added about 80-90g of weight by adding the vinyl. The vinyl also made the matte black look glossy, but it still looks fine to me.

The goal of this build is to have fun with some components that I would not normally use, but have always been interested in trying. Some of the components are WW components, but again, weight is not the ultimate goal.

Weights:
Frame, 1060g pre-vinyl.
Fork, 404g uncut, pre-vinyl.

That is my favorite color scheme! I have been trying to find one in 48s for two years. They do not make that color anymore.

Great frame, but take the vinyl off! My god, it's not your grandmothers sofa.

The CLSM color scheme from 2012. The frame was purchased from R&A Cycles in New York. I believe that they have the CLSM in 48S. I hope you get one too; its a stunning looking frame.

Wrapping it in vinyl? I bet you still have the plastic wrap on your dishwasher and car seats. Nice bike but please get rid of the vinyl and build the bike as Ernesto intended.

Looks great.

What BB cups do you have fitted?

And can you fit a rack for panniers?

Can't see the use of vinyl ( or even another same model bike at the same time ) but to each his own :P

Those cups are for Lightning cranks, which are fitted to a Power2Max with Praxis chainrings. I wanted to weigh all the individual components of the crankset, mu local bike shop put together the crankset before I could weigh everything. I had problems with my Parts of Passion chainring bolts. I took the crankset assembly to my local bike shop, and they put together the assembly using Vuelta alloy chainring bolts. So the POP chainring bolts diameters are a little too big to fit the Power2max spider.

I also got Parts of Passion saddle yokes. Thankfully the POP yokes fit, without issue.

The green on the Power2Max doesn't match the green of the frame. I wanted the CLSM green paint to customize paint some things like the seatpost clamp, headset, and other small parts. I emailed Colnago-America, asking who the manufacturer of the green paint, and I got an email reply. But it was a blank email. :? :noidea:

Weights:
Power2Max 110 BCD for Lighting cranks 223g.
Lightning BSA Cups w/bearings 83g/pair.
Crankset, Power2Max 110 BCD spider (including battery) + Lightning crank 170mm, Vuelta chainring bolts, Praxis 34-50 chainrings, TOTAL 684g.
6kcycles seatpost clamp 10g.
Deda Superzero seatpost uncut with Parts of Passion yoke and two M6x35 Ti bolts 184g.
Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio Flow saddle 120g.

I knew you guys would give me slack over the vinyl. I'm kind of worried that that black matte paint will come off, like what happen to the Europcar's bike.
