Hey guys, I've been lurking around here recently looking for inspiration how to tidy up my Supersix EVO Hi Mod. Its a 2016 model, size 58.

It actually started life as a stock CAAD 12 105, around 5 years ago. I got some DT Swiss RR21 dicut hoops on it, as I was doing a lot of climbing. Then the 105 went and was replaced by Ultegra 6800 Di2. It was a pretty nice bike at that stage.

I then got offered a stellar deal on my Supersix EVO Hi Mod frame and SISL2 crank. The parts from the CAAD 12 came over to this frame and I added FSA K-force Bars, Seatpost and an OS-99 stem.

Next, I relocated to a place where there's no climbing. The RR21 wheels came off and on went some DT Swiss ARC1100 Dicut 48mm.

So here are the key components that make up the current 6.95kg weight:

2016 Supersix EVO Hi Mod frame & forks
DT Swiss ARC1100 Dicut 48mm
GP4000sii Tyres
SISL Crank (52/36)
Ultegra 6870 Di2 groupset
FSA K-force Compact Bars
FSA OS-99 stem
FSA K-force seatpost
Astute Skyline Saddle
Favero Assioma Duo PM Pedals

My little project was just going to be a nice annual refresh at the end of 2019 (new cassette, chain, tyres, cables and service). Then I thought screw it, I may as well upgrade the groupset while I'm at it, so I bought a Ultegra R8050 groupset.

The groupset landed and I was just getting ready to take it in for the rebuild and I started staring at the spaghetti junction that is my cabling:

I know, I know  I've been living with and accepting that mess for a couple of years now and I told myself I can't possibly do the rebuild and still look at that. So I went doing some shopping for bars and stem to allow internal cabling.

After a lot of window shopping, reading reviews and comments, I ordered a set of 3T Superergo LTD stealth bars and an ARX ii team stealth stem. On the slippery slope already, I also threw in a set of Jagwire Elite Link brake cables.

So, the bike went in today for its rebuild and its now looking much better. It also dropped some weight in the process. However, whilst standing admiring it, I couldn't help but think that my FSA K-force seatpost looks totally out of place now, against the stealth look of the cockpit.

So, I just ordered a new SAVE Hollowgram Seatpost to finish things off. Once this is fitted, I'll provide some updates and more pics...

Well, I finally finished the refresh of the SS Evo and managed to trim the weight down to 6.70kg.

My main mission wasn't to make the bike as light as possible, but it was nice to shave away a few grams whilst in the process of making the bike look a little nicer.

Quite pleased with the results

How did you find the routing on those Superergo bars?

I had read some mixed reviews about some people finding it difficult, but I found It pretty straightforward to be honest.

I removed the installed cable guides from the get-go and used the 'gear cable/brake ferrule' and used a pair of needle nose pliers to grab the cable when it came near the opening. No need for expensive Park Tools cable routing kits!

I'd also recommend getting the Di2 wires in place first and routing the brake cables last - if the brake cables go in first, there's less room for the Di2 wires to navigate, but putting the brake cables last, they are stiff enough to push their way through the Di2 cables.

I’d read the same thing, which is why I asked. Perfect, thanks for the photos and comments!

Well it pains me to report, but my SSE HM frame is dead. Broken top tube = frame is done.

In the process of shopping for a new ride currently.

I have a few nice components that will be redundant on my new bike, so I was thinking weight weenies may be keen on some of them

3T Superergo LTD Stealth bars 42cm
3T ARX LTD Stealth stem
SSE HM forks
Headset assembly
Possibly sisl2 crank, but I haven't decided yet

Any interest in said items?
