I know it's not the WW build, but practicality dictated by my physicality allowed me to build the bike as it is.
You can easily spot the components which can be replaced by lighter ones, which I admit it's a potential option for further development of this bike. The main goal was to get non-compromised bike for every day use.
Hope you enjoy it.

Lol, really struggling to see where you'd drop more then 100-150g off the main components and still have real tyres, ax wheels would take a lot off but Zipps are very nice

Thats an extremely nice weight for a 58 as well.

Really nice bike and thanks for sharing the full build list.

Your having a laugh there right? My R5 has just arrived and awaiting build. Frame weight is 855g - One of the heavy ones I guess. Total build for mine will come in around 1kg over yours with 2012 Sram Red and Powertap, so you are not doing that bad!

How have you tuned your bars?
Did you replace the seatclamp bolt or was Ti standard?
You have given me an idea with the Tune Gum Gum thanks!

Thanks for the comments.

Initially there were lighter components on the list. Some AX SRT or Enve 45 laced to Extralites/Tune.
But finally decided to try one of these new trendy wide rims.
I'm still in the process of finding my right saddle position. So if I'm OK with zero offset post, I'll put such a one (on the shelf 117g).

Bar, I took the paint off and cut.

Post clamp, yes replaced steel bolt for Ti one. Still looking for the options to get a lighter clamp. Mcfk can make one as an individual request, but the price they ask is a bit.... steep, lets say. Maybe Smud...?
I would prefer Extralite expander, but already had GumGum.

Nice build :)

Can I ask what height you are? I have a 58cm R5 in the post as we speak to replace my Ribble Sportive for this season, I am torn between new sram red and super record!

Like the look of the rotor cranks as well.

188cm, which according to the church of England is about 6.2"

Great build. How do you find it in comparison to your Canyon?

Thanks Guys for the comments.

Cervelo is lighter :D

I wouldn't say it's a huge difference between these frames. Despite Canyon's quite bizarre sizing 62 vs Cervelo 58, stack, reach and head tube length are almost identical. Just 1mm difference in each of them. Cervelo has 110mm stem vs Canyon 120mm.
Cervelo is more nervous at the front. I have to put more effort to control the bike. With the Canyon it was like riding with the autopilot, providing very stable comfy ride. On the other hand I feel that Cervelo responds slightly quicker.
Rear end, I can't feel any difference.
The most significant thing striking you with the R5 is the power transfer. Very nice feeling. In this respect much better than Canyon (I used the same wheels and tires).

Interesting on the power transfer - is that because the R5 is a lot stiffer (I had thought the Canyon was supposed to be one of the stiffest out there) or just because it is otherwise better (not sure how this would be, perhaps less skittish, more planted feeling?)

Interested 'cos thinking of getting rid of my Fascenario and the Canyon (2013 SLX, but understand that not much difference stiffness wise from 2012) and R5 are both on my shortlist.

Cheers,
