Hi There,

Apologies in advance for not having this built up yet as still a few bits & bobs missing, but I'm just super eager to share it :oops:

Here's a little back ground on my C60:

Colnago C60
Colour - MHCF
Frame Set Traditional 53cm

Since I started road cycling back in 2003/4, I suppose like a lot of folks - have always wanted a lugged Colnago since I first saw the beautiful C40. At the time the obvious choice for me was the late C40 or the new C50, then came the Extreme C, Extreme Power & eventually the C59.
But for various reasons (out bid on eday, missed out on sales or wrong size on sales etc ……) I just never got to fulfil my desire until now, that’s after 12 years of wanting one :-)

At this point, I have to thank my dear understanding wife, who continuous to support without complaint my costly “addiction”!

The decision to go Traditional was simple for me - in my humble opinion it just looks “right” :-)
The colour scheme chosen was based on my liking for something discrete yet shows a degree of painting craftsmanship, :-) hence the MHCF option. A touch of colour but not too much & I like the partial nude carbon on show, it is a Colnago after all.
The bike & finish is absolutely gorgeous :-)

Special Thanks must go to Mike at Maestro (England, UK) for supplying me with this beauty.
I cannot be more happier with his service. He alway answers my emails promptly despite the fact that it was about a year before I actually ordered one from him after my initial inquiry.
I placed my order back in Mid-November 2015, it arrived at my door last Thursday after waiting 13 weeks.
In my mind, Mike is without doubt, the “man” to go to for a Colnago :-)

Grouppo is Campagnolo Record 2015 mechanical except for the Rotor 3D+ chain-set (which was from my previous bike) I’ve always ran Campagnolo, but had a wee fling with Shimano Ultegra Di2 with my last “good bike”, great as it was to use but I just cannot live with it anymore. Nothing wrong with it apart from just not my cup of tea! So, back to my old favourite for this build :-)

Wheels - I have a set of Fast Forward F2R carbon tubs from my previous Canyon.
But I'm thinking to maybe mix things up slightly with this new build & going old school with some hand-build Ambrosio Crono F20 alloy tubulars with some Chris King R45 hubs (which I got fairly cheaply on sale).
What do you think?
I already have some Ambrosias Nemisis & Excellight wheels (which I built myself, but was a bit of a small disaster until my LBS rescued it, so I have got him to build this new set instead :-) got to do it properly)

I had over a year to collect all the parts, buying whatever/whenever I had funds & after selling my Canyon last January.

Great looking paint scheme can't wait to see this bike built up :thumbup: looking forward to seeing the weight comparison of yours against mine as our builds are very similar :D

Our Colnago is never going to be true weight weenies :shock: but at least we're trying :mrgreen:
But yours is 59cm, a good 6cm more carbon all round :wink: I'll definitely have the edge here.....haha!

My Zipp bars & stem is porky & so will be my Ambrosio Crono wheels if I decide to go down that route.

How did you get on setting up the new Campagnolo grouppo?

I know everybody builds a bike as he/she wants it, or believes it will look good/ok.....

This is just my personal opinion.... for those who forget :D


Why those Look cages?????????????????????
Why Rotor cranks??
Why Arione sadlle??????

The frame is so beautiful it hurts.

EDIT: OK, the Rotor crank might look good on it ;)

I found it fairly easy to do but remember to put a barrel adjuster for your front mech on cable , only trouble was the front derailleur height with running 53/39 q rings it took me a while to set the height right but if you're running a compact with no q rings you should have no issues :thumbup:

Tom, thanks for the heads up. Is the barrel adjuster absolutely necessary? not a big fan of then myself especially sticking right in front :roll:

But here's the reason for the following:

Look cages
Hand-me-down from the previous bikes, I had a Look frame prior to my Canyan. It holds the bottle very well & access is good too, so functionally it's great.
Is it the logo or the shape you find "wrong"?
I would welcome any suggestion, but not too expensive though :roll:

Rotor Cranks
Again from my previous build & find them very good, stiff & shifts very well. Again, is it the look/graphics on it that matters?
I was thinking about de-decal the graphics on the cranks & rings, but not done it before & would really appreciate some advise :-)
I'm not a big fan of the new Campagnolo 4 arm design plus I would like to stick with alloy cranks.
I am thinking about the OMC-Italia V-Strong One, maybe later ..........

It's the saddle I've used for more than 12 years, having tried a few - Fizik Antare, Selle Italia, Specialised etc. I just keep going back as it suits my bum best :thumbup: this is my 5th one, again from previous bike.
So, I'm afraid that'll be staying, unless again it's the colour?

I like that paint. It reminds me a bit of the colours of my original C40 from 1995 but toned down a bit. Beautiful. Maybe I'll have to reconsider my decision not to get a C60.

You might be able to remove the Look logo with Acetone.

Yes. Gorgeous paint. The hint of pink goes nice with the blue. Agree with Damjan on the cranks, saddle and cages, but those are just parts that you can play with down the road as you see fit and resources allow. Perhaps an all black saddle however. Is that a 30mm spindle on the Rotor? It'll require special smallish bearings in that BB, but I'm sure you know that. Graphics wise, it's also very busy looking, and will detract from the beauty of the frame itself. So, maybe when future resources allow... A campy crank might better suit the overall build. And while I'm spending your money, some Dark Label Bora 50's would be so nice here. No tan sidewalls, no "bright label", just dark label rims with all black tires. But that's down the road maybe. The important thing is you've got a frame that'll be a keeper for a very long time to come. Maybe forever. Looking forward to the build.

I dont care how much it cots :D Actually if the bike looks good and is cheap - even better ! ;)

I dont like the shape of those cages. You can still sand them down if the logo bothers.
Maybe those Elite classic cages, in black? Or Arundel (but those are a bit expensive I guess)?

I understand if something fits you or is working properly, that you like it.
Dont take me too seriously, its just an opinion ;)
