Keep it classic eurperg. Tan sidewalls must stay. If all black would be better, why would FMB, Veloflex and other companies produce tan sidewall tubbies at all? It's up to one's choice, but I would keep them.

The roads are finally free of ice and snow, and I have now ridden the bike outside for five hours, feels super good...

Handling felt immediately familiar after my CT2, but stiffness is a lot better. Comfort maybe not as good, but it's nothing Hyperons with Veloflexes can not cure
Going down one size from 59 to 54s (58) makes the bike handle less like a steamroller, but it's still has very stable Colnago-like feel. Position feels good also. I may tilt the bars and hoods up a little bit though...

This is a wonderfully delightful build. GDSL was a great color scheme for the 59.

I'm 48 years old, own and have owned many Colnago's. I don't post much here, way too many self annoited "Colnago Experts" that make ongoing ignorant comments about saddles, stems and sloping frames....

I take back what I said in an earlier post about thinking maybe the all black tires would be better on this build. I think it was just because I had gotten used to how much I liked your first set of pictures, with the deeper rims and all black tires. But looking at your bike against the snow with the tan sidewalls, I'm thinking perfect. I like it a lot, especially the caked on ice. Either way, it looks great.
