Thanks guys... new pics, when I get the saddle from Piotr Smudek... :)

The saddle on the bike is a Selle Italia SLR Team (carbon). I don't know where you can get it... it is a 2011 model, so it might not be available anymore.

Haven't tried the tires yet. Since the weather in Denmark is cold and rainy at this time of the year, I am on GP4000S.

First mile stone has been reached... now sub-7.

Swapped my CST (80 mm valve) tubes (104 gram) for Schwalbe Extralight (80 mm valve) tubes (78 gram)

7,028 kg -> 6,976 kg... :D

I know I could save some more grams if I went with Conti Supersonic tubes - but then I would have to go through the hassle of using valve extenders. This is easy... just plug and play.

Are these weights now measured or still working on reducing actual weights for components from the manufacturer's total bike spec?

Lovely bike, couldn't justify the cost for one myself so had to "settle" for an Ultimate CF instead ;)

The weight is now measured.

On page 2 there is a photo of the bike, as it was, when I took it to my LBS to get an actual weight. Weighing in at 7,140 kg. Since then I have changed tires and tubes - and regarding both, I have weighed the actual new tires vs. old tires and new tubes vs. old tubes. That leads me to 6,976 kg.

The Ultimate CF is also a very cool bike... I had the old F10 prior to this. Excellent ride... must be something like the Ultimate CF.

I love my Ultimate, so much better than
my old Planet X. Really want to try and get that under 7kg too but without some exotic part, not sure it will happen. Am at 7,315g for a 58cm and I know I can save another 150g with my Summer tyres and tubes, I have some new narrower (and lighter) bars coming for Xmas which should save a bit and some new cables would save over the stock Shimano ones and even changing to some even lighter tyres (Supersonics or Michelin Pro 4 SC Comp Ltd both at 150g claimed) could perhaps save another 40-50 grams but not sure that'll be enough to tip the balance.

Anyway, like I said, lovely bike, look after it! :)

New wheels... getting ready for the mountains of Mallorca...

Enve 65 : 792 + 662 = 1.454 grams (including rim tape)

Extralite Hyperclinch : 648 + 539 = 1.187 grams (including rim tape)

New weight of the bike : 6.709 grams

Looking at the size of your bike my guess is you are not the typical climber. I'm interested in how you find the Extralite wheels as it seems like a bold choice.

When you go to a location with mountains to train, eventually you have to go uphill... and in that case I find it nice to have as light a wheel set as possible.

If the typical climber is a 59 kg dude riding a size 50/51 bike, you are right, I am not the typical climber. But then again... I enjoy riding in all kinds of terrain (also climbs/descends). And I do my climbing sitting in the saddle, why I don't think it should be a problem (flexing) with the Extralite wheels.

Time will tell... I can give you a feedback ultimo april 2013... :)

Great looking bike!

What's the saddle height you're riding with?
