Personally not a fan but I think you have good painting skills, why not create something more unique with your obvious talent?

I personally don't have a big problem with the 'fake' concept however the race plate, imo, is more of a desk decoration etc. (unless you race under wiggo's number of course )

It doesn't take a trained eye to see immediately that it's not a real Colnago, but damn... you did a nice job. As long as you don't try to pawn it off on someone as the real thing, enjoy it and ride it with pride knowing that you yourself did such a great job on the paint, and paid some respect to Colnago at the same time.

I did have the opportunity to inspect a fake EPS a few weeks back. Matte Black, same graphics as the original (except for a blue painted on logo describing the carbon on the inside of the chainstay). These bikes I have a problem with. They don't even have the same tubing. The downtube is not ribbed inside, the headtube and top tube/downtube junctions were garbage from the inside compared to a real one, and the headset was something from I don't know where. The crown race was a split job that I've never seen on any real colnago from italy. But it was cheap for sure... And the potential purchaser knew it was fake, so I guess as long as you know you're not buying the real thing...

However, I'm much more impressed by what you've done with your paint on a clearly non-Colnago frameset.

Thanks for posting this - it cheered me up. I was thinking maybe I had done something very wrong. I'm a big fan of Colnago's work. I have in the past used my skills to restore two mid-seventies Colnago Supers - brought them back from the grave ( they were truly in a state) and I've done other classic bikes too. Heres two pics one of the 76 ... And I do try to use my creative skills to do other things .. but that is 'my work,' and not for this forum. Once again, thanks for all those who can understand why someone may wish to do this ...

Who cares if it's not a real one, it's your bike and it looks great
