Just got my new Parlee Z5 and built it up last night. I can't comment on the ride yet, but the craftsmanship and finishing are very nice while the geo thankfully fits me like a glove. Was hoping the frame would be a bit lighter, but I'm still pleased with a weight of 868g for the size small frame (including cage bolts, hanger, seat collar, barrel adjusters). Final weight came out to 5.97kg which I'm happy with given that the build is relatively stout.

I'm considering painting the silver striping on the 3T stuff and the red accents on the Sram stuff in yellow paint to match the logo on the underside of the down tube. Anybody know how much something like that would cost? Maybe just doing the red accents in yellow would be enough?

Build:
  • Frame: Parlee Z5 (Small)
  • Fork: Enve 2.0 (Tapered)
  • Crankset: Sram Red Black (BB30, 50/34, 165mm)
  • Front Derailleur: Sram Force
  • Rear Derailleur: Sram Red Black
  • Shifters: Sram Red Black
  • Cassette: Sram Red (11-26)
  • Brakes: Far & Near
  • Pedals: Look Keo Blade (12nm)
  • Seatpost: 3T Doric LTD (31.6x350mm)
  • Stem: 3T ARX LTD (100mm)
  • Handlebar: 3T Rotundo LTD (40mm)
  • Handlebar Tape: Fizik Microtex
  • Saddle: Fizik Antares 00
  • Wheels: Zipp 303 Tubular
  • Tires: Vittoria Corsa 23mm Front / Vittoria Pave 24mm Rear
  • Skewers: KCNC Ti
  • Bottle Cages: Zipp Carbon
  • Headset: Cane Creek Forty
  • Seat Collar: Parlee
  • Derailleur Clamp: Parlee
  • Chain Catcher: Generic
  • Bottom Bracket: Sram BB30
-----------------------------
Total Weight: 5.97kg (Fully loaded including Garmin sensors and mount)

Very nice. Similar build to my Z5.
I think it will look awesome if you get the red highlights painted yellow.
There are a few frames a bit lighter than the Z5, but the ride quality is amazing, and when I was testing and comparing bikes I found most frames including the Colnago c59 and Time VXRS had their cable guides riveted on.
I really like the Parlees moulded in cable guides.
Give us feedback on your ride impressions once you get some miles on it.

Thanks guys. Ozrider, I love the molded cable stops as well - so nice. My friend's R3 is actually being warrantied right now because of a faulty cable stop. He was jealous when he saw the Z5 :)

very nice!! i'm totally smitten with my new z5!
it's a shame works and weather have stopped me riding it as much as id like to!
i've installed a chain catcher, garmin mount and sensors and it's 5.88kg.

have a new stem and skewers coming looking to get it under 5.8 ;)

A good route for the graphics would be to get them made up by a vinyl printers; cheap as chips and still looks good

Stellar!

Are the yellow graphics custom or does it come like that?

Beautifully shot, excellent build.

Do you live on or own a vineyard? Seems like there is a winery further along that road.

As a longtime Colnago owner, I've been admiring these from afar. Just how stiff are Z5's? Say compared with a SuperSix or an M10? I'd love to hear impressions because the chainstay is so slim that I wonder how it does under heavy acceleration.
