So I went from a BMC Team Machine SR01 that was hovering around 6.8kg including a Quarq powermeter and jumped on the opportunity to get a Wilier, which was on my bucket list of bikes. Anyway, I didn't expect it to have a whole Kilo on the BMC, especially since on paper, my build should be around 7kilos. AS it stands, it weighs 7.74kg and besides the wheels and rear cassette, I don't see a lot to work with in terms of weight. Fortunately I live in flat Miami so no climbing for me!
Anyway, here's the build and photo:
Frame - Wilier Cento 1 SR - size XXL
Shifters - Shimano Dura Ace 9000
FD - Shimano Ultegra 6800
RD - Shimano Dura Ace 9000
Brakes - Shimano Ultegra 6800
Chain - Shimano Ultegra 6800
Crankset - FSA SLK Carbon 50/34 175mm BB386
Handlebar - 3T Ergonova Team
Stem - Ritchey WCS Carbon Matrix C260 stem
Saddle - Specialized Romin Pro Evo
Zipp 404 Wheels
Tires - Vittoria Open Corsa 700x25
Cassette - Shimano Ultegra 6800
Garmin Vector Pedals
Garmin 510 computer and mount

No climbing?! WTF, you've got the Key Biscayne bridge!
Seriously though, nice bike. I'll be in Miami this weekend. Who do you ride with?

Key Biscayne Bridge, LOL!
I ride with the Ultrabike X crew from Key Biscayne on Saturdays or the I-Run crew on sundays. Sometimes I do the Coconut Grove saturday ride or the Sunset sunday one, not very fit for those right now though!
How about you?

I know, I know! Came with the bike, I'll get to it eventually Actually, I'm thinking of going Semi Compact (52-36) so I don't need to change the crankset.

Handling is a bit less "racy" but more comfortable. I'd say it's stiffer than the SRL01 on the BB but the stays and fork are a bit more forgiving so a good combination.
If you're doing Crits or climbing a lot do the BMC, if you're doing longer rides, the Wilier wins.

Nice build but 4 cm of spacers is pushing it a little bit now? I used ride in Miami, I now live in Delray beach. Much safer...

You can probably loose some weight with a different stem and brakes. But gain some weight by choosing a 39t 110 inner chainring. That is what i use on my compact crank in the flat part of Holland where i live.
If you want to see 'meh' content of me and my bike you can follow my life in pictures here!'Tape was made to wrap your GF's gifts, NOT hold a freakin tire on.'

To "look" pro you need to have between 7 - 10 cm of drop.
I think manufactures suggest no more than 30mm... 3cm worth of spacers between frame and stem for safety reasons because of the potential of carbon fork tubes cracking. I still love the way the bike looks so no contradiction.
