MCFK Saddle (69g):

I really love this saddle. I have about 3,000 miles on it so far, including Copperopolis, which I'll explain further below.

Copperopolis is a race in Northern California that is considered the Paris-Roubaix equivalent in California. Although it's not cobblestones, it was THE worst roads I've ever been on or could have conceived. For 80% of the 21 mile lap you're on roads that seem like they were paved 60 years ago, torn up and then just patched on top of patches. The main descent was roughly 45 mph and all you could do was hold on for dear life as the bike bounced and bobbled in the air. All of my weight weenie components made it out alive, which highly impressed me since standard components failing is commonplace at this race. The Reynold DV46 didn't lose true, the Extralite headset is still humming along and the Mcfk saddle, even though it took some serious beating by me being fully seated most of the race, is still performing admirably. The only weenie part that I seriously regretted was the cloth tape. Even with gloves on, I was nearly in tears during the descent. I had the lizard skins sitting on my desk but thought it would have been fine since I "got used" to the cotton tape.

Oh, and the Edge 1.25's are glued up and curing. With these, the Siena is now down to 13.56 lbs.

Here's a teaser pic until I can get around to taking pics outside:

That looks great! You are completely right about Copperopolis, it's the Hell ride in Norcal!! I did not get to ride it this year but all my buddies did and they said it was the Nuts!! I wanted to get that saddle too but would like to see it in person first as I am use to cutouts... Maybe if you ride the HOP in Danville I can check it out! Nice bike....

Outstanding Ti bike. I'm bitten by the ti bug and planning one. How's the ride up and down the canyons? Do ever have punctures riding on Mhllnd? That road is beat! I too live in LA (SFV).

I do the Nichols ride fairly frequently (a torture ride through Mulholland) and haven't punctured yet (knock on wood). Last time I flatted was on PCH when it was raining - I think we suffered 12 punctures out of 16 riders that ride.

I think I've flatted twice in the last 6,000 miles (almost every ride begins and ends with a dozen miles through urban LA). The Continental Sprinters have been excellent in that respect.

Got some goodies in the mail. I'm going full weight weenie on this most recent changing out of parts (Cirrus Ti pedals should be here shortly, as well as FibreLyte rings).

Got a really good deal on a painted Enve 1.0 fork, so after several hours, it went from 309g to this:

These are awesome...in every way:

So money. I love ultraweenie builds. You're making me spend more on my build, dammit!

Fibulas and Enve 1.0 fork went on right away. THM did an awesome job designing them, all of the braking power of the SRAM 2013 Red brakes at 100 grams less. Much better than the Ciamillo Gravitas SL's on their best day.

I'll post up a teaser pic tonight as well as a few other parts (83g HSC BB) until I get the final parts. Waiting on MCFK UD post, clamp and my crash replacement saddle, Cirrus Ti pedals and Fibrelyte rings. With the Red Powermeter, that should put me a hair above 13lbs. I think I'll be 40g over 13, but I'm having trouble figuring where to lose it without tuning. The MCFK stem may be on the buy list once it comes out. Or I can pick up a super weightweenie dedicated climbing wheelset and put Veloflex extremes on (loss of 230g to 330g).

Regarding the frame, I love this frame. It's on the heavy side compared to the Moots RSL or Litespeed T1, but the ride is butter and it's very responsive. I race twice a month, and it's served me really well.

I think the only frame I'd replace it for is the new Ax Vial Evo.
