My new Cervelo R3 w/ Si SRM

Fork: 3T Funda Pro
Brakes: AX Lightness Perseus
Saddle: Fizik Arione (or Becker Carbon)
Cranks: Cannondale Si SL SRM
BB: the Ti/Starnut special
Brifters & RD: SRAM Red
FD: Dura-Ace
Seatpost: KCNC Ti Pro Lite
Chain: KMC
Cages: BTP
Pedals: Speedplay Zero Ti (black)

Waiting for my Zipp SL bars to arrive in the mail & there is a 3T stem that matches much better that'll go with it. The fork steerer will also be properly trimmed then as well. When that shows up I'll toss on some light wheels & get it weighed. My guess is that it'll be about 13.5# with the SRM.

The 1st ride was yesterday & it's an amazing bike. I have been riding bikes with less than perfect shifting for the last month so it was great to be back on a proper build with perfect shifting.

The saddle really is level, but the camera angle makes it look tilted up. I have the saddle shoved forward 'cause that's how I need it. It looks kinda funny, but it looks perfect when I am on the bike!

There's 3cm of setback. On my TT bike I am actually in front of the BB - I wanted both bikes to be "close" in position & this position is actually really nice on the road bike. I had my old Look 565 in this same position & when I switched from a 8cm setback position to the 3cm setback position I instantly gained 10 watts on the local 20 minute climb that I do. If anything my fitness has declined & the power gain has remained. The new position was created when I did a bike fit with a guy who does the aero bike fits for Team CSC.

What amazes me is that people can judge a saddle position as being wrong just by looking at a bike without the rider on it.

OP has his priorities straight, he has consulted an aero guru and gets more power out of a 5cm more forward position than he used to ride- who cares how it looks?

If the saddle were way nose down or up that would be different. We are talking about set back here. Anyone ever read the myth of KOPS?
