Any more updates op?
Looking to get a Protos and was wondering if you've had any FD issues. The retailer I'm looking to purchase it from encourages the buyer of the Protos to get a chain catcher. It says very tight clearance.
There was also another blog somewhere and the guy was having a lot of problems with the EPS on his Protos. The FD was dropping the chain.
Just wondering your experience. Thanks

The Protos is a stiff frame that really transfers power effectively. Despite the huge bottom bracket junction, I don't feel as beat up as I expected. I find myself sprinting a lot more because the bike just picks up speed very easily. Moreover, it's one of the most unique and aggressive looking frames because of the huge downtube.
I have not had any issues with shifting with EPS. I am using V3 and love the adjustability afforded by the smartphone app. I don't see the need for a chain catcher when a bike is set up properly, especially using electronic. I like it so much i am upgrading my other bike from record mechanical to Chorus EPS

Thank you very much. I've been looking at this frame for a while and the prices are to the point that my wife can deal.
Love you setup and will probably copy some of it. Love that stem and am now doing Record for sure after hearing how you haven't had any problems.

Upgraded a few parts recently for functionality and aesthetics reasons and saw a favorable weight loss as a result.
Cassette: Chorus 11-27 --> Super Record 11-29
Stem: WR Victory --> WR ST1
Saddle: Still the same but had it repainted by a good friend
Bike is now 7.1kg without any real exotic parts. Now trying to hunt down some light water bottle cages in white. suggestions.

Thought about swapping the Dave-O’s to mandibles. I believe they are a couple grams lighter. I’ll swing by R&A and see what they look like mounted before I commit.
