Currently on Continental Speed King 700 X 34C and would like to replace it with a light tire that rolls very well on roads & pavement and a little XC riding. Pls advice.

Been running the Maxxis Maxx Lite for the last month or so. Light with minimal tread. great for dirt trails, not so great for mud/snow.

Geax TNT 29 AKA 2.0 I think about 640 grms w/ indestructible sidewall with good tread profile. I've run all kinds of tires but the Geax TNT have NEVER left me stranded. I've NEVER had to fix a flat. I've had a couple of punctures but the Stan's sealed it. They are a PITA to mount on Stan's rims but not impossible and well worth it. The Barro race 29er TNT is sub 600 gram. I rode it at Leadville 2 years ago and the Barn burner 104 this past year. Bombproof! I will always race on these tires. Light enough and very, very tough!

My current tires weigh 368gms each, so I'm looking for something lighter. Keep the suggestions coming.

Well if you're really asking about CX tyres, why not ask in the Cross/Touring forum as well? You might get more suggestions close to what you're after with something so narrow? The only other MTB tyres which will be close to that are things like Furious Fred's and the small Maxxis race stuff. Their weight is similar to a lot of CX tyres but they are also wider 45mm-50mm etc.

That's why I like the Geax TNT. Bulletproof, almost:)

im on nobby nics now, bit heavier but seem to be much tougher and grip much better in the snow. Ive also got a couple of maxxis igniters as back up.

Used for 90% pavement, 10% hardpack dirt. Currently on Bontrager 29-0 (400g) but I would like something lighter and faster.

The Maxxis Maxxlite 29er (345g) looks good but at 29x2.00 it is a big tire. I can't help thinking that I would be better off with some sort of 700C tire.

Suggestions?
