Maybe of use to some, I had the chance to weigh a few shoes while searching for some new shoes.
All are a pair size 41, weighed without cleats.
Current shoes are Shimano M310 - 837g
Giro Code - 696g
Shimano M240 - 763g
Shimano M315 - 737g
Not sure how other models compare, maybe some people can add to this?

I will fully admit that I am a weight weenie but I have never considered the weight on my shoes, shirt, shorts, nor gloves. I like a light helmet however.....

Light shoes makes sense, rotating weight and all... but comfort is no.1 priority and stiffness is also important.

If Specialized's S-Works shoe is as light as claimed, a pair will weigh around 670 grams.
I have a pair of their Comp shoes from 2009 and I have been very pleased with them. They are super comfortable (I haven't tried any other shoes though). The spring in the right buckle is broken, but I'm considering buying a new pair of buckles since the shoes are still fine. When they die I will most likely get the S-Works version.

Kudos to you for taking the gram counting to new heights... or lows depending how you look at it. Ive never considered the weight of a shoe.
I've never considered my shoes as rotating weight. Perhaps I should weigh my ankles and always trim my toe nails tight too? Anybody able to verify sock weights?

My Spec S-works (2011), size 43, weighted 753g with cleats.
It makes sense to me. People are willing to spend loads of cash on saving a few grams from a chainset of new wheels, when you can save quite a bit from a lightweight set of shoes and probably for much less money.

I race in Nike Poggio II shoes that have SPD cleats. at 541g for the pair they save over 300g over my standard shoes!!! I glued on some side blocks so i can still run a bit but if the race has a lot of hike a bike I leave these at home. weight is weight, every gram counts!
