My new bike arrived, and it came with an in-house carbon seatpost coming in at 212 gm for 350mm. Not a tank, but no bantam weight either. What are other light seatposts (sub 180 gm) that are around $100 US? I weigh 150lbs/68kg and am 6' tall.

Take a look at the Easton carbon posts...

Extralite, either the post UL or the post. Nice and light.

USE alien carbon post?

lightest possible combination is usually a 25mm x 350mm post with shim. I'm currently shiming from 25mm to 34.9mm with no problems

post 146g
shim 25g
total 171g
