I am thinking of purchasing a new seatpost for my avanti agressor, i'll have to get a USE seatpost shim as all of the seatposts i've looked at dont come in 31.6, im thinking of getting something a bit more comfortable, strong (the current one's a little bent) and light than the generic alloy one in there, i'm thinking use alien Ti, Thomson Elite/Masterpiece, or maybe something carbon. Any suggestion?

Cheers, Buzza

Accordig to Thomson, their elite seatpost is available in 31.6 mm. see http://www.lhthomson.com/elite_sizes.asp. According to me, you can buy this seatpost blindly, no problems, never, and great looks, ever!

I'm currently running a 25mm x 350mm USE Alien carbon (146g - uncut) with shim (25g). Combined it comes in at 171g.

If worked out almost 100g lighter than the Thompson elite setback post that came with my Spec M5 HT frame (268g).

Been running with the USE Alien for almost a year now. Some slippage early on, but now doesn't budge.

You also have Ax-lightness.
Mine is a 27,2 for 350 mm for only 139 g  .
No problem since 1 year.
Work hard and be light to go fast !
I wait for the next marathon race.

Sorry, bit of a typo, it is a 30.6, odd size eh :?
thats why i couldn't find a thomson in the right size, i reckon i'll get the use shim and go for the Alien Ti, should be strong enough since it's, Ti, its relatively light, and the added comfort will be good,
Cheers guys, buzza
