I am going to reduce weight of my MTB aslo changing my grips. Now I have a pair of Pro Grip (94 gr). I don't like FOAM. What do you suggest?

Roadie bar tape?

Otherwise why not just trim down your existing grips?

why not try cork or cork composite. Light (around 20-30 gms), dense and good shock absorbtion. check http://www.bikeboosting.nl/index.php?VAT (in dutch) for info

Good weight, but the feeling to have wood in your hands is strange. And with rainy conditions?

I use Ritchey WCS Grips.
They have great comfort and good grip, they neither wear to fast and they don't soak wet in rain!

I don't think Cork does either... Thinking of the Redwine-bottles...

The lesser good thing about the Ritchey is that the weight is around the 54g - not really weightweenielike. :? But I cared more about functionality here. (Shame on me  )

If you accidently had to, could your bike take a smaller downhill ?

WCS claimed weight are way below their real weight.
I changed from WCS 73 gr to Extralite's Neogrips 28 gr (trimmed), I like the change, it feels firmer, doesn't twist on wet wheater.

my grips are only 5g using cork handlebar tape

6 cut strips 7.8 cm each ....3 on the left side and 3 on the right side

add 2g more for some masking tape to keep it held down

so 7g total isn't too bad and comfort is just fine

Well thats really funny. :?

My Ritchey WCS perform perfect in wet conditions (better that many other) and the weight is about 51g.

Take a look at:
http://weightweenies.starbike.com/listi ... type=grips

And look under the Ritchey WCS Grips - nobodys got any grips as heavy as yours...
Sure you really have Ritchey WCS Grips??? Doesn't really look like them on the picture neither.
