Post subject: Tune OR Chris King??
PostPosted: Sat Aug 02, 2003 5:29 pm
Hi fellow riders all over... :D

I was wondering can anyone tell me how the Tune MIG and MAGs perform?? Im currently on the following setup:

1) Chris King Classic Hubs
2) Marwi Ti Spokes - 32 per wheel, cross laced
3) Alu Nipples (for aesthetic reasons: colour  )
4) Mavic X517 WITHOUT ceramic sidewall.
5) Control Tech Ti skewers - not them quick release types.

Im not sure of the weight of my wheelset, and in terms of "weenieness", is my setup lighter than one with Tune hubs???

Got my CK setup after selling my 98' crossmax (non-disc), dun feel as smooth as the crossmax and kinda twitchy... :?

Hope to hear your views/comments. Thanks everyone for reading this...

I haven't riden King's hubs, but I think that Tune hubs could be a little better even, because Tune hubs have 4 ceramic bearings. I guess you will not feel any difference. Only thing that I don't like in tune hubs is that the freehub is too loud!!

Nearly all high-end hubs have loud freewheels, including Chris King.
Rule of thumb: the louder the freewheel the stronger it is :)
It's the sound of excellence. :D
