Some nice reviews on some new British products.

Hopefully they'll follow up with other stuff shortly.

Part three

Some confusion on what Campag is up to on the MTB front. Has anyone heard anything?

Singletrack wrote:There have been rumours for, well years, that Campagnolo were going to re-enter the mountain bike market with a new groupset. And such a thing would probably be great, but they don't seem to be doing it just yet. Despite having posted patent applications for a very 'how did they get away with that' Rapidfire+ style combined brake and shifter unit, they seem to be merely after a share of the fast-growing flat-bar road bike market. There's this loverly carbon levered beastie, with proper finger and thumb shifting, but it wouldn't last five minutes off road, so we'll have to see if all the talk is, well, just talk.

Campa is making flat-ber shifters now, check their site. I don't know if they intended this for MTB, but it can be used for it.

Doesn't say that it will cope with/ is designed for off road use though...

But they do look very nice :)

Part four

Sounds like a common problem with the USE Alien post is going to be rectified.

We forgot to show USE's new seatposts the other day. There are two - one is an upgrade of their Alien post, now with a single, bigger (hooray!) bolt that is going to be self extracting too (saving the 'hitting your post with a rock' scenario that we've seen in the past)

On the Campa website, they state that the FB shifters must be used with the Chorus FB Front Derailleur. The FB Front triple has a max capacity of 23 teeth, so fine capacity, but would that work with mtb cranks, i.e. 44-32-22? Or one could go with a 2x9 up front?
And then I guess one would also need a Record/Chorus road rear derailleur? I wonder how this set-up would be? Would it be a durable rig?
