i've got on my XtC Composite a front derailleur XTR M960 04, which is about 148 grams. it's too much for me !

have you an idea for a lightest ? Dura Ace ? i need a 34,9 mm, and i'm in 22/32/44 for my crankset...

thanks !

DA would probably be the lightest, provided that the XtC Composite frame takes a bottompull FD...

I'm using an older M950 XTR FD (ø34,9mm) - it's 113 grams with alu cablepinch- and clampbolt.

While this thread is here, could someone explain the difference between braze-on and clamp for front derailler?

A braze-on DA FD-7800 is claimed at 74g!!!

How do the options stack up?

Shimano DA Vs Campagnolo?

I have a spec M5 HT. Geometry is 34.9 clamp and Bottom pull.
I'm currently running an XT front derailler. Could I use the existing clamp and attach a lighter weight triple road derailler?

The difference is the way to attach it to the frame
above: braze-on
under: clamp-on

A braze onderailleur doesn't have a clamp but uses a "brazed on" bracket that's part of the frame.
Look at this photo and you might understand what I meen.

The photo is a clamp for using a braze on derailleur on a non braze on frameset.

thanks again Joel.

Do you have weights for braze-on adapters?

Who supplies them and what cost?

ARAMID front derailleur Clamb

- Weight is 31,8mm 11g
- Weight is 34,9mm 13g

The lightest: BTP For the rest I don't know, but I think clamp-on derailleurs are lighter (one bolt less) and you could shave the clamp a bit.
Braze-on plus BTP clamp could be the lightest possible, but it's a carbon clamp.
