Why would a smaller wheel make the bike slower?
I would have thought that the reduction in weight would have been more important.
I use 26*1.5 IRC Metros and find they fly.
Ohh boy, this would be a long and difficult topic for everyone. I do believe in 650c wheelsets. I actually run them on my tri bike.
There has been a lot of debate about this wheel size including, weight, aerodynamics, rotational weight, etc.
If you look at the data of the participants of 2003 Ironman, only 1/3 of them were using 650c. It could be because of the reason that 650c's are for shorter riders and most participants are taller that uses >52 frames.
I use a 52 frame and I am actually considering on selling my 650 frame and wheelset to purchase a 700c frame.
I guess we need a new thread for this . . .
