I am finishing a Salsa Banditio project and I need a 34.9mm seatpost clamp to replace the salsa clamp. Ideas? I know about the extralite one, but they are expensive and hard to get.

Hope makes a nice one, a touch heavier than advertised but my 34,9mm clamp is 18 grams with Ti bolt. Finish is very nice too... :) also, you won't have to sell one of your organs to afford it!

Not sure what prices are like where you are but from the UK:

extralite seat clamp 12g (steel bolt) £14 UK
hope seat clamp 20g (steel bolt) £10 UK

additional cost of £4 UK saves you 8g.

Get a Ti bolt from a bolt shop and NOT from extralite. from bolt shop it will cost you £1.40 UK and not £7 UK. Be careful the hole for the bolt on the clamp is very narrow. You will need to shave the Ti bolt head.

My Extralite UltraClamp was cracked at night , without touching!
also my Extralite ultra stem cracked at the barclamp after 400 km.
I don't want to use some Extralite parts any more.

Could be a case of overtightening the parts. This is always the problem with (ultra) light parts.

Since most people doesn't use a torque wrench to check the right taut on their parts, it's our instinct to overtighten it thinking than the part might not hold if it's not tight enough.\

I don't have any problem (yet) with any ultralight parts since I alway see to it that it is held with just enough pressure.

My Extralite Ultraclamp (Ti Bolt) weighs in at 12g. The actual weight is definitely higher than the advertised weight for this Extralite part. I have read that their UL Posts are lighter than advertised, so they aren't all bad :D

Look at the seat clamp listings on this wonderful site and you will see that Extralite is not speaking the truth on their clamps. That being said, they are still one of the lightest.
