I got tiny M3 X 10mm Al bolts from my local Hobby shop and substituted them in these places:

2no. to hold the Rear Mech hanger plate.

4no. to secure Hope Mini lever reservoir covers.

6 - yes 6 to hold the lower half covers of regular XT shifters.
(care needed to avoid overtightening and damaging the plastic cover).

These bolts can also be used as the v brake pivot adjusting screws.

I guess I have saved about 5 grams... Has anyone done anything equally stupid?

Hmm, NO! :) But it sure is cool you got me LOL 8)

Thanks for your input!

I own a 97 zaskar, not really a ww frame, but i think the rear mech hanger plate is fixed with a chainring fixing bolt. I think I'm going to put some Al. in there too!
