My friend has a set of Bike Ahead 29" wheels - AC One 29 - 1079g.
He has them on his XC bike and loves them. What are your questions and I can ask him for his thoughts.

What is the difference in handling, response compared to standard spoked carbon rim wheelsets?
Does he notice any harshness in them or any negative features?

It seems to me, these would react faster on acceleration and a more stiff brake response?

yes, I am one of the happy user, they are really awesome do-it-all wheelset that I have. I have 3 of deeper profile wheelset, one is DT Swiss ERC 1100 Dicut, and Lightweight Obermayer (2013 version). On flat, Biturbo is on par with DT Swiss, LW is slightly slower. On climbing, DT Swiss just can't hold the candle to Biturbo Road, not even close.

Biturbo Road is very stiff and accelerate well, almost as responsive as LW Obermayer. I really love their wheels, the value is high since it is DB wheels, I need no concern about damage to braking surface. And I need no concern to truth of the wheel due to the carbon spokes. Only concern is to hit pothole and get totaled, which every carbon wheel will fail under such condition.
