Interesting that they have gone with a lower forks offset 41mm whilst other manufactuer have gone the way of increasing fork offset when slackening head angle in XC bikes

The short fork rake might be a mistake.
I remember the old Bontragers with short rake Rockshox forks.
Any bump or pebble woulds stop the front wheel.

Not comparable. They have slackened the headtube at the same time. Coincidentally, this is the very same move that Transition has just introduced in their lineup (longer, slacker, less fork offset).

Why are you calling it an "FSR"?

Definitely not an FSR. Modified single pivot. Not a Horst link.

As noted 'FSR' is no longer in the name as its not Horst link, but 'Future Shock Rear' would still fit!

Geo chart says the XL new Epic is 35mm taller in stack than the XL new Spark. Do they make a stem low enough for Kulhavy to get his fit right? :P

Seen an S-Works in person too (before Spec had allowed the embargo lift on the bike). Got to be fair, I'm a big Specialized nerd, and I know there's a lot of people who despise the brand, but this thing is SERIOUSLY impressive. For one the weight of it, a realistic Weight weenie build would but it easily in the mid to high 8kg mark. It's also honestly as stiff as my Epic HT S-Worls and the fork take thing is no issue. The original head angle was super steel so this is a remarkable improvement

21.8. Considering my Yeti ASR-C with heavier wheels, a heavier fork, and a dropper plus cable weighs less with heavier tires, this thing really isn't that impressive weight wise for the cost.

Wow that is really nice, especially metallic paint - are the days of black coloured bikes numbered? Interesting development of the remove reservoir for the presumably the 'brain' that sits low down behind the rear drop out.
