As far as a budget I would say under 500 ( canadian )for upgrading it. I know rims are expensive for good ones so I would say exclude them in any upgrade reccommendations as I can suffer another year with the current ones. Bike is in mint condition as I have barely rode it last two years. Just had it tuned and rims trued so am ready to ride.

I am kind of a noob when it comes to upgrading mountain bikes and have been riding my racer bike more often these last two years. I know upgrade to the Deore Xt drivetrain and better forks is a good start... after that ....clueless.
EDIT Specialized got back to me on the weight of bike. According to them it is 28.121lbs.
