Tacx Flux doesn't work with MTBs with long cage/widerange
Moderator: Moderator Team
Just thought I'd share this in case anybody is searching for this or considering this. Today we had a customer coming in with a Tacx Flux and a Scott scale with the 2x11 XT and an 11-42 cassette. This does not work at all. The bottom of the derailleur is hitting the support feet of the Flux, so 42t-15t does NOT WORK. The motion of the derailleur is restricted due to it physically hitting the feet. Major design flaw by Tacx.

Just don't use that gear? It seems like an easy solution.
BTW, do they really mean the highest gear? To me the highest gear is the hardest gear (smallest cog). From the picture it looks like they mean lowest gear.

That's why they say it "is not suitable" and "will not fit".
If someone has bought it / sold it on the proviso that 'they say it won't work but...' then it's not really Tacx's fault.
Best judge for yourself. The 2015/2016 Neo's had issues with the inner cage of the derailleur contacting the lower plastic, but Tacx did a re-design of exterior to afford more compatibility wiht disc brake bikes.
