I converted my HT Stumpjumper from a 2x10 XTR to a 1x11 XT at last!
Currently running an oval Absolute Black 32t chainring, but I would love to go to a 38t in front (beachrace, last year 38x11 in 2x10).
What are the options? AB only goes to 34, I'm having trouble to find anything bigger than 36, especially oval and direct mount!

I know that I will probably need to move my cranck to the right not to touch my frame, but I think that's not going to be a big problem...

You can try Garbaruk or KA Engineering. They do custom sizes.

Not sure what level you race at, but a 38 is still pretty small. I went for a 44t this year, and checking with the top riders here they even ride up to 48t!

I have fitted a 40T oval Garbaruk non direct mount 104 bcd on my old X9 alu crankset... Works fine in training, first race tomorrow! My cassette is also a custom piece 11-speed 11-32 105 race cassette. Normally they don't fit a mtb-body, but if you cut 1.8mm from the back off the cassette, it fits perfectly!
