Anyone tried to use double crankset with 16T tooth difference with shimano mtb front derailleurs? like 46-30 or 44-28

According to official info total capacity of 2x11 shimano mtb fd is 10T and 2x10 shimano mtb fd is 14.

But, I found some test links with examples where bigger front chainring difference is used :

I don't have a definitive answer, but
1/ Shimano are always conservative (see example below)
2/ It have shift but you have an issue with chain dragging on the lower section of the cage in small small.

In my case I have a 9-speed XTR short cage mech, maximum quoted sprocket size is 34T, I'm using it on a 40T expander with no issues at all.
