So then guys, now the Di2 has been out for a while who is currently running it and how are you finding it?
Where did you end up placing your battery and wiring etc.

I'm currently running SRAM XX1 fancy a dabble at the Di2 as I can get it a the right price.
My setup will be - SRAM XX1 cassette 11spd, RaceFace SL cranks with AB oval 34t ring. Then obviously 1 X 11 Di2.
I'm just unsure at the moment on battery placement as I don't want it side bottle cage.

So be nice to hear your experiences and how you getting on with the gear.

I know I'll be gaining weight but I don't think it'll be a lot really?

I dont think its worth it for rear only
with powercordz the shifting in rear is almost effortless and you dont have to charge batteries and worry about expensive deraileur

Agreed. The only real benefit I see with Di2 is when running a 2x11 setup.

Thanks guys but I've taken the plunge will run it 1x11

A lot of XC riders already run 1x11 and I don't see why it'll be a issue tbh.

I run 2x11 and sometimes also 1x11. Of course the best benefits will come when run with 2x11. Then again the accuracy and smoothness of rear derailleur is also great.

Thanks man. Have you had any issues or miss shifts etc with Di2?

I'm looking forward to trying it out with the Next SL cranks an Absoluteblack oval ring too

it isn't that it would be a issue, more that syncroshift is the big advantage of di2 on mtb. But 1x11 will work just fine to, probably less maintenance then with wire. performencewise, not as big advantage (or no advantage) as with 2x11.

Sometimes I remove my finger from shifter too slow and this will result double shift but happens very rarely. Battery life is less than in road bikes because powerful derailleurs but still good.

Does anyone know of an alternative to original Shimano charger?

Either that or just a USB cable that would have the correct plug?
