Will this combination work? I am thinking no, but maybe someone has experience with it.

SRAM GX 10 speed rear shifter
SRAM GX 11 speed rear derailleur.

shifter is "exact actuation"
derailleur is "x actuation"

Nope, you'll need a 10sp sram mech to run it with the 10sp shifter

As above, different pull ratios, 11 with 11, 10 with 10.

No, that's Shimano, road bikes and a totally different question about using his 10 speed cranks......a complete misunderstanding of just about everything on your part I'm afraid!
