I know, not the lightest but with choice peripherals you can achieve some light overall results.

I have an old school 95 Kona Explosif Columbus MAX OR. Very nice ride.

I have a scott pro racing for 1992. Great bike but not the quickest. Fun never the less.

I ride a 1995 Stumpjumper FS in True Blue made from Tange Prestige tubing. It's still a hell of a bike despite being outdated in nearly every way.

Not actually vintage although it does look it vaguely, but I ride (and race) a Ritchey P-650b.

These are extremely hard to find. I had a Romax back in the day. 1989 fillet brazed hand made by Paul Brodie. Best riding steel frame I ever had. Second in line was the Kona Hot. The characteristic of the sloping top tube made the difference for me.

Riding a steel Author Sector dated year 2000 - Ritchey Nitanium tubes still going strong.
Not the lightest one, setup is around 11kg for 19" frame, Fox fork and XTR 980 groupset.
Nonetheless, I'm still very happy with the bike.

Not sure when vintage starts in this context but:

1992 Mondonico SPX road frame (stripped for fresh paint)

1993 Slingshot RD1

Image

That Rocky Mountain and the Brodies are stellar!

Very cool Slingshot. Not many of those seen on local roads anymore. Back in the day I always tried to get my hands on uniquely designed frame sets. The Slingshot and the Mountain Goat were two frames I never had, but lusted after both.
