Brakes is working very good now, except from when wet! Or to be more precise, they do grip, but they squeal like crazy! It's so bad that I'm currently not riding when it's raining. Is it typical that squealing is worse when the brakes are new? I haven't been riding more than around maybe 100 km since I've got the bike all built up.

Yes, the noise is normal and it didn't go away for me. I would imagine it is related to the poor (not straight or equal) piston retraction again. I hate to be negative, but just wait until you do a long descent and find the levers pulling to the bars and no braking power. There were so many "last straws" for me to switch to XTR :?

The noise comes from contaminated brakepads.
Use high heat to burn off the oil etc.
Don`t use spay lubricants on disc brake equiped bike.
With Formula brakes make sure that the pistons move properly
maybe use some silicone grease or similar and change the brake fluid
every know and then. Mine have worked perfectly for many years.

.... and therein lies the issue for the OP and many Formula brakes and why the thread was started

Formula brakes are like Hayes of yesteryear... variable build quality and while some are flawless some are utter sh1te! :noidea:
