Finished building it this week and have only one ride on it, pretty impressed, my last FS bike is a 26er racerX that is 10 years old... Never thought I would buy a Trek one day, but I did

Details on the build:

Trek Fuel EX 29er carbon 21.5
Fox 34 factory 120mm
Next SL crank 30T
XTR RD, shifter, trail brakes, pedals, rotors (180/160)
XT 11-42 cassette
Race face next carbon bar 760mm
Race face turbine 35 stem 70mm
Easton Haven dropper post
Fizik Gobi carbone
I9/CXRay/Nox Teocalli wheels
Ardent race front/Icon rear tires in 2.2 both
Elite alum cage I had laying around :)

Looks great Lionel :)
I dont think there's any shame in having a trek nowadays.
Their mtb's used to be very average at best, but certainly get good reviews now, so must be doing something right.
Only thing is they seem to be a little under specced for the price, which swayed my decision to get a trance instead.

Curious, is the RF chainset 24mm or 30mm axle? Was under the impression Treks wouldnt take 30mm bearings/cups.

Ride the f*** out of it!

New Treks are PF92, so they can run the RF cranks without issue.
Bike looks great, Lionel!

Total weight? With that build I'm guessing just over 11kg...

Very nice. Well thought out bike.

If Trek had been a bit faster in putting Top Fuel 9.8s together, I might be riding a Trek instead of a Yeti.

Funny because I was in between this one and a Yeti 4.5C but these were not available before March.

That's a great build. I just wonder if the tyres are a bit too XC compared to the rest of the build, but you've probably got a better quality of dirt to work with than the slick mess around here

You're right, tires are a bit "light" for the bike. I may go beefier in the future.

So you got the dropper all sorted out?

YEs the Easton dropper now works.... At least for now as dropper reliability seems questionable. The Easton dropper is new so we will see.

Dropper seatposts are far and away the most unreliable part on modern mountain bikes.

Of course, people will give you shit if you don't use one, because you can't possibly ride technical terrain without one, or so they believe.
