Hi.

The same for me with r1 racing M.Y.2015 :) The lightest and a very good improvement over the older formulas and yes, i used and tried almost all the brand on the market (don't kill me shimano fans)

Another vote for Magura MT8 I have been beating up a pair for 3 years and well over 1000 miles of hard use. Great breaks.

Just bought a set of Formular R1s (2013 vintage) as being much much lighter than my old XT's.....not fitted yet, but with the 180mm discs that came with them they weigh about the same as my XT's without discs!
Impoverished weight weenie wanna-be!

+1 for th XTR's! Mine are great.
(however they're on a fully rigid bike which doesn't go that fast downhill!)
Seem to be really powerful , comfortable lever, can't falt them.
Arms of a sprinter, legs of a climber, lungs of a smoker!
I cycle, therefore I am.

You can't go wrong with the Hope Race X2 or XTR m9000 race, both are pretty awesome.

Really like my Guide RSC's I put on recently, awesome modulation which I prefer over the on/off feel of some shimanos

I have two bikes with XX WC brakes and they are fine for XC racing. Sure rotors are small but don't do any DH or enduro. I like modulation with organic pads.

Had a set of MT8's.. Pile of crap. Bought Guide Ultimates and my problems are sorted.
Cheers

Itsadrianduminy, which year model you have?? First generation of those brakes wasn't the best, but the second was much much better.

The New Gen @bikemaniac.. Also heard that they were resolved but my one brake body diaphragm popped, and the other side leaked fluid.. So yeah Guide Ultimates and no problems since✌
